Tip #2

So I was at the gym last night going about my business when all of a sudden this girl drops her weights from a standing position. Caught off guard by the unnecessary crash I look over to see what the issue was and sure enough this girl was fixing her hair. Her hair! Of all things to concern yourself with at the gym your appearance is not one of them. So this is my tip for everyone out there, especially for the ladies, sweat, sweat and after that sweat some more. If you leave the gym sweaty and gross and should not be seen in public you know you had a great workout. If you were like this girl however, checking and adjusting your hair every few minutes, looking at your reflection more than looking at the weights you have a problem. If you can go straight from the gym to a night out on the town you fail, but more importantly you have wasted your time and money at the gym. No one cares what you look like while your working out, it's not a fashion show, you're suppose to look gross, and in this instance sweat is your friend.

while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it."

  2. Thanks Amanda, there were so many more but I thought I'd be nice and keep it somewhat short haha

  3. Excellent point about image and the gym. When I have walked into a gym and all I see are perfectly made up women on the machines, I will admit, I am intimidated. I go there to sweat. Bah!

  4. That is exactly why I don't like working out at the gym in my hometown. I am always running on the treadmill and am surrounded by the little high school girls who just go to the gym to talk to the guys in their class who work out there. They don't even do anything, just gab to each other and fit in 2 or 3 crunches. It's pathetic!

  5. Buddy, guys are just as bad if not worst! I can't stand going to the gym and seeing guys check out their muscles in the mirror! It's so irritating! Stop staring at your muscles and start working out. I don't need to see you jerks brag about your muscles!

    great post by the way!

  6. Wow, this is so true! I have talked to so many women saying that they refuse to go to a gym because they aren't 'fit enough'. So at least that girl made it in being so self-conscious haha

  7. Lol, I'm guessing she saw and ex fling of her's because to risk your safety to fix your hair is kinda a BIG deal! If your trying to look "good", the gym is definitely not the place to go to do that.

  8. I agree with Kevin. But that may be because I don't have the muscle to check out in the mirror. I would still be trying to find them.

  9. Great post Jamie. I agree sweat is your friend at the gym and part of the reason I workout at home is beacuse there are too many people at the gym like the girl you described in your post. I can't stand people like that so I prefer to become buddies with my sweat in the living room. It's harder to get motivated when that couch is behind me but the rewarding feeling afterwards is always better. I also really your playlist. Thanks!
